That is why I am here now to help you!
Why should you start a blog?
Starting a blog can be beneficial in many ways. It gives you a chance to express yourself and help others.Blogging is definitely taking off for sharing information.
There are millions of blogging sites out there, but don’t worry you can definitely make yours stand out and get noticed fast.
Did you know you can make money blogging? This is one of the best reasons to get into the blogging world! Get paid to do something you love on your own time.
No schedules and no bosses instructing what to talk about. What more could you ask for?
Even though you have probably heard all of these reasons before, it is nice to be reminded why you should go through with this.
The Most Productive Way To Start a Blogging
It is no where near difficult to follow these steps. Get your site up and running in no time.
Step 1: Pick a niche
Note: If you have already found your perfect niche continue to the next step.
A niche is a specific topic that your blog will focus on.
There are so many different topics out there to choose from. Make sure to pick a vast niche that has multiple options of writing information.
For example if playing games was your interest, picking Call of Duty as a niche would majorly compress your variety of topics to write on. A better niche for this would be Gaming in general. That way you can talk about games, devices, and accessories to use to game. This would give you an endless supply of topics to write on.
*Make sure whatever niche you choose is something you are actually interested in.
Step 2: Finding a Platform for Your Blog
There are an endless supply of platforms out there. You will want to go with a platform that is big and well-known to start off on. This will help your posts get out there and reach viewers to grow followers. I advocate WordPress, it is a massive platform with daily readers.
This is the platform I currently use and I love it. Check out my homepage to see what yours could look like here.
WordPress has a free option to start off with and plans to upgrade as your site grows and develops.
They also have a huge amount of plug-ins. If you do not know what plug-ins are don’t feel bad. I did not know what they were when I began my journey. Plug-ins are tools you can add on and add to your site. There are a variety of different plug-ins you will use for optimizing and customizing your blog.
WordPress is super easy to set up and they will help you step by step. They have many different themes and layouts that you can customize to make your site look the way you want.
Step 3: Choosing a Domain Name
Your domain name can be free, but it will have your platform at the end. For a better understanding I will give an example. So, dependonmom.wordpress.com would be free, but dependonmom.com would probably cost anywhere between $10 to $20 a year to use. This option is completely up to you and what you would like.
Choosing a domain name is just your url that people will use to reach your site.
This is a part that you want to be careful with the wording and spelling. You want your site to be easy to type and not easy to misspell. You don’t want a name like The Pen is Read. Although catchy, when it becomes your domain name it will look something like thepenisread.com. That is something that can be easily mistaken as something else and you want to avoid that.
You can literally choose anything for your domain name, but make sure it is relevant to your sites content.
Step 4: Choosing a Host
A hosting account is very helpful when running a blog.
You want to make sure to get a reliable hosting service to keep you going. Your sites speed and how it will function is really determined by the hosting service you choose.
Choosing the wrong host can cause a lot of problems for your site.
I suggest using BlueHost. If you use any platform BlueHost works great for a hosting service. Most WordPress users recommend beginning with BlueHost. According to my research, BlueHost is the top rated hosting service in the opinion of expert bloggers.
